Savanoriai Panevėžyje

Elza Takidze is from Georgia and having her European Solidarity Corp’s volunteering project in VŠĮ A. Lipniūno kultūros centras, Lithuania 🇱🇹 , Panevežys.

📎“My working place (kindergarten) is in out of Panevežys, village Velžys. We are doing different activities every day, from time to time it became more interesting and fun. I’m here for almost one year. First, it was hard to get used to new conditions: weather, warm clothes, new people, and culture. But for me especially weather, because I’m from Batumi city next to Black Sea coast and absolutely in love with the sun! I would like to advise you to take the warmest clothes for winter if you want to “ survive “. But being a volunteer in cold or hot weather doesn’t matter, because my working place, kids, people are so warm-hearted and welcoming so I don’t feel “cold” at all with them!

📎 During my stay in Lithuania, I also experienced some ups and downs. I felt homesick after a few months of being here, but the homesickness ended very fast. Sometimes I was really annoyed by the fact that I didn’t understand so much Lithuanian and that I couldn’t express myself so well, after some months I was okay with it!

🖇 My only suggestion for you is to be open, fun and enjoy as much you can be during your volunteering. This can be the greatest experience in your life.”
